Adobe Illustrator + live 3D vehicle proof

Design in Illustrator.

Watch it land on the vehicle, live. Keep every tool, shortcut and file you already use. The WrapsDesigner.com panel sits inside Illustrator and puts a real 3D vehicle beside your artboard, so your client sees the wrap on their actual vehicle before you print a single inch of vinyl.

Download and install in under a minute · Illustrator 2022 and later · Included in the plan
You aren't switching software. You keep Illustrator. WrapsDesigner.com adds the one thing it has never had: your artwork on the actual vehicle, in 3D, as you draw it.

The Illustrator panel

A proper Adobe extension, not a web app pretending to be one. Install it once and it lives in your Extensions menu next to everything else.

How it works

Drop a region onto your artwork. That's the whole setup.

Pick the vehicle in the panel and it lists every wrap region: bonnet, roof, side left, side right, rear bumper, tailgate. Drag the region you're designing onto your artwork and the link is made. From then on, whatever sits in that frame appears on that panel of the vehicle.

  • Live, one way, Illustrator to preview. You draw, the vehicle updates. Nothing ever reaches back into your document, so your file is never rewritten behind your back.
  • Real regions, real names. Panels are named the way a wrap shop names them, not panel_1 and panel_2.
  • Built from the real vehicle. The preview is the actual body shape, not a rough outline, so artwork that doesn't sit right on it shows up while it's still cheap to fix.
  • Spin it in front of the client. Full turntable in the panel.
  • Export 1:1 print ready when it's signed off. Panel separated, colour managed, ready for the RIP.

From artboard to signed off

Three steps, without leaving Illustrator

1

Install the panel

Download the installer, run it, restart Illustrator. The panel appears under Window, Extensions. No account juggling, no plugin manager to fight.

2

Pick the vehicle, drop a region

Choose the vehicle, drag the region you're working on onto your artwork. The 3D preview goes live and stays live while you design.

3

Approve, then export

Spin it in front of the client and get the sign off. Export the 1:1 print pack and send it to the printer.

The questions every designer asks first

I already have Illustrator. Why would I switch?

You would not, and we are not asking you to. WrapsDesigner.com is not a replacement for Illustrator or CorelDRAW and it never will be. You keep drawing in the software you know. The panel adds the one thing Illustrator has never done: showing your flat artwork on the actual vehicle, in 3D, while you work.

Does it change my Illustrator file?

No. The link runs one way, from Illustrator to the preview. The panel reads what is inside your region frames and shows it on the vehicle. It never writes to your document, never reorders your layers and never touches your artwork. Your file is yours.

How accurate are the vehicle templates?

Each panel comes from the real vehicle's geometry, so you're drawing onto the actual body shape rather than a rough outline. That's what makes the preview worth trusting: you see how the artwork sits on the vehicle, from any angle, while you work.

Can a browser tool really produce print ready output?

Yes, and it's the point of the product rather than an afterthought. Exports are 1:1 vector PDF, panel separated and colour managed, laid out the way a large format printer expects them. Ask for a sample pack before you pay us anything and run it through your own RIP.

What if the vehicle I need isn't in the library?

Tell us which one. We build it. Subscribers jump the queue.

Is the panel hard to install?

No. Download the installer, run it, restart Illustrator and the panel is under Window, then Extensions. It works with Illustrator 2022 and later.

Why is the panel only on Designer Pro?

Because it's a commercial grade tool for people who wrap vehicles for a living, and it's the piece that saves them a reprint. Solo gives you the full browser studio. Designer Pro adds the Illustrator panel.

Show them the wrap before you print a single inch of vinyl.

Design in Illustrator, watch it appear on the vehicle in 3D, get the sign off, export print ready. Nothing else works this way.
